Valid WAN Connectivity Methods

The two valid WAN connectivity methods are PPP and DSL.

PPP (Point-to-Point Protocol) is a commonly used WAN protocol that provides a secure and reliable connection between two nodes in a network. PPP is often used to connect a customer's premises to an Internet service provider's (ISP) network. PPP encapsulates data in packets and establishes a session between the two endpoints, enabling authentication, encryption, and compression.

WAP (Wireless Access Point) is not a WAN connectivity method, but rather a device used to connect wireless devices to a wired network.

L2TPv3 (Layer 2 Tunneling Protocol version 3) is a protocol used to establish virtual private network ( VPN) connections between two nodes in a network. L2TPv3 can encapsulate Ethernet, frame relay, ATM, and other types of traffic, but it is not commonly used as a WAN connectivity method.

Ethernet is a LAN (Local Area Network) connectivity method and is not typically used for WAN (Wide Area Network) connectivity. However, Ethernet over WAN technologies such as Ethernet over MPLS (Multiprotocol Label Switching) and Ethernet over SONET/SDH (Synchronous Optical Networking/Synchronous Digital Hierarchy) can be used to provide high-speed WAN connectivity.
